RE point # 2: as a young engineer, i had an anger problem, always on defense. clients asked for changes and i would be mad. my boss would ask for updates and i would be mad. i was so fucking convinced that programming was about me + computers and not me + other people + eventually computers.
this is the shit that needs to be taught early in tech; if you can't deal with other humans you can't do this work
@GinnyMcQueen @noelle and my job is so much more rewarding now that i spend time working with my coworkers and thinking about what actually solves problems. at this point in life, the tech isn't even the interesting part anymore π€·
a big part of why i took the job i did and moved my whole life was because it was a company with a super empathetic environment and lots of fucking amazing people to work with
