– "<something great>, boost if you agree" is a great format to get boosted and meet a lot of folks early on. E.g, "cats, boost if you agree"
– if somebody says something about Gargamel they're joking about @gargron. Or they like smurfs maybe?
– "birdsite", "the bird", "hellbird" all = twitter
– kindness > memeing > the late capitalist hellscape that birdsite is

@tcql Also pro tip for getting started: You're probably going to be browsing around a lot on other instances, seeing a cool person here or there, but find there's no Favourite or Boost buttons. What you can do is copy the url for that toot and paste it into the search bar on your home instance client interface, it'll show up there with all the buttons you're used to.
