It's provable that people who are obviously identifiable as women (or on other minority axes) are less likely to be *allowed* to contribute, because of unconscious bias.
"I haven't seen it" is really not a good reason to say it's not a problem. Pretend this is a user bug report. "I don't see it" isn't a good reason to ignore it

@tcql @GinnyMcQueen rather, I see it *not* happening. I've worked with women in open source and their contributions are judged on the same merits as everyone else and go through the same process as everyone else. I have direct involvement in many projects and a pulse on many others.
