I love how *specific* this is: "The Shug Monkey is a mythical creature, in the folklore of Cambridgeshire, sharing the features of a dog and monkey, which reportedly haunted Slough Hill Lane which leads from the village of West Wratting to nearby Balsham." (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shug_Mon) So just Slough Hill Lane, apparently. /me sings: Shug Mon key don't use no gas now / Shug Mon key don't drive too fast

@taz There are many local monsters like that. Various phantom black dogs have local names - black shuck, barguest, etc. We have regional names for many Bigfoot-like creatures in the US.

@Idoubtit I like it! I'd like to see a list of super-geospecific monsters and ghouls. Like the Corduroy Banshee that stalks the northwest corner of the Safeway parking lot, etc.

@taz That would make them too easy to find!

@taz So, the Shug Monkey will never be ghostriding their whip?

@taz I love this so hard.
I think every town should have a hyperspecific cryptid that lives only on *one* street.

@selenized @taz I don't want to see the one from my neighborhood. :shudders:
