Like, I detested wrestling as a teenager, because it was violent, full of racist machismo, and people kept saying it was fake.
Then I realized that yes, it was fake, but so egregiously fake like theatre, that the people who were behind it could be vulnerable, felt sorrow, stood by one another like a family (this was when Owen Hart died).
Like, the labor issues in WWE are still something of a problem, and its implicit racism… but I respect it WAY more now, and enjoy it more than I did as a teen
