Today in “Reasons Why Mozilla Is My Favorite Organization”: they just released a new Firefox extension that isolates your Facebook identity from the rest of your browsing. https://blog.mozilla.org/firefox/facebook-container-extension/
I support #deletefacebook as much as the next netizen, but in my view, steps like these are the ones with the greatest potential to change the future of the web. So much respect for Mozilla.
Today's lesson: Medium is bad. They've suspended our account and blocked access to all our published stories for bogus reasons and with only 12 hours notice.
So the guy who knew about the yahoo mail hack has left Facebook months after finding out about shady practices https://mobile.nytimes.com/2018/03/19/technology/facebook-alex-stamos.html

With all the hype building up around the imminent release of #GodotEngine 3.0 with initial #CSharp support, a word of caution when you open the editor for the first time seems quite necessary. https://github.com/godotengine/godot/pull/15972 … https://twitter.com/Akien/status/955451134092726273
3.0 is not even out and some contributors are working on 3.1 features.. here's a peek at user volzhs great work on supporting opentype fonts with built-in coloring: https://twitter.com/reduzio/status/953271734521778176
Being a PC building noob, I was shopping for a new CPU and motherboard to replace an overheating CPU on a 7 year old rig.
Instead, a $6 tube of thermal paste and reseating the existing heatsink solved everything. Yay for saving hundreds of dollars!
Motherboard & Vice are building their own community internet https://motherboard.vice.com/en_us/article/j5djd7/motherboard-and-vice-are-building-a-community-internet-network-to-protect-net-neutrality
Evidently inspired by their reporting on folks doing similar in detroit and elsewhere.
I don't mean to pour salt onto Crunchyroll's DNS hack wound, but...
WHY. THE. HELL:
- ...do they think it's a good idea to use HTTPS only for the login page ???!!
- ... do they pull JS from dozens of external websites just screaming for injection attacks
- ... do NOT EVEN send out X-XSS-Protection HTTP header and X-Frame-Options header
I mean FUCK I amateur-admin a non-commercial blog with merely 1000 visits/day and I do QUITE BETTER than them on web security...
Shh, "don't" tell anyone. You can still pre-order a #Librem5.

#tf2 Jungle Inferno update is fantastic!
Regardless of what happened, NeoGAF as a community would be missed. The fact that it's a private site run by one person is really madness. As we now see.
http://ddlc.moe/ is a well-polished, solid experience. Probably overhyped in some circles, but Team Salvato really know the genre and their audience. I found it very enjoyable for the season.
Looking forward to their next project!
