This whole not sleeping well thing is getting old. I get a few hours of awakeness during the morning, then comes the long bleer. Most annoying on workdays when napping is frowned upon.
@sysadmin1138 Workplaces that frown upon naps are the worst. :(
Is it the kind of place where citing studies that do show powernaps increase productivity might help, or are they stuck in “we can't be paying you to nap” land?
@kellerfuchs My last startup had a nap-room it was awesome.
I now work from home, so... unexplained time away from IM is guilt-inducing.
@sysadmin1138 I tried convincing the lab I work at to convert a then-unused office into a nap room; unfortunately, politicking and “we don't want to be known as the lab where people take naps” happened :(
Also, I won't get another shot I think, since we are basically short on space now.
@sysadmin1138 You mean, you will feel guilty for taking a nap, or colleagues will make you feel guilty if you disappear from the IM for half an hour?
@sysadmin1138 I like sleeping in data centers. The cool temps and the hum of the equipment makes for a nice sleep. The do frown upon you bringing a cot though.
