As identifiers these are objectively terrible. They're only good if you're tired of typing the full words out.
@noelle o11y? That's "Observability". It's just as ironic as a11y.
@sysadmin1138 I'm OK with i18n. Too often it needs to be specified as part of an identifier and 20 characters is a lot.
The others? They are silly. Especially k8s. That's just lazy. Not even the good kind of lazy.
@kurtm I would like k8s better if people SAID "kates" in person. But they don't seem too.
@sysadmin1138 If folks insist on using k8s, I'm going to insist on pronouncing it "Kates".

I’ve complained before about how “a11y” is itself inaccessible (and LOOKS like a word in English, making it confusing as well).
