I went to therapy for the first time today and I already have figured out what's wrong with therapy: they give you homework. there are all these thought patterns and practices you're supposed to adopt and who has time for that? besides, I already knew what I need to do, I just don't know how to do it in the moment. Therapy should just be a holodeck where you negotiate realistic scenarios you expect to encounter this week, and the counselor just coaches you and gives you notes. I would do that.
@swervestray fwiw it's not holographic or anything but some therapists totally do more of that "acting lab" stuff, or will do it if you ask them. some are a lot less awkward at it than others tho haha
and yes, I do always think I know what's wrong with everything after engaging it one time. sorry
