Oh! I is a perfect day! A deep mist, rain pattering against the windows, cool air snaking through cracked windows.
This time of year is often referred to by locals in despairing tones as the June Gloom.
I adore it.
In the first heat wates of late spring, I begin to dread the harsh light and oppressive heat of the endless days of highish-latitude summer. June Gloom is a relief, a reprieve, a promise that autumn will come again, eventually.
(I hate summer so much.)
