What do you make of the use of the passive voice in the last sentence? (Your answer need not agree with anything shown in the Brian H prequels)

@neither I didn't know Dutch for "warning: snake has swallowed at least two cars" was so terse! Or is Boomwartels just the snake's name? I'd love to meet a snake named Boomwartels.

I have a non-masto friend I want to send this to, but no idea how she would take it. Like the author used to do, she has done the "no drinks for first XX days of year" thing the last few years, and maybe has a bit too much the rest of the time.

One problem is, we only socialize over booze 😦 and I'm about 10x as likely to overdo when I'm socializing with her than in any other situation 🤔.

Is 2018 the year to rededicate myself to #blogging, or to officially give it up? I used to blog a lot of Free software and photography stuff, but both subjects have been less interesting to me, both to do and to write about.

My recreational activities skew more to reading, 3D printing, and video games these days, but I don't feel like those are subjects I want to write about.

boost python is kinda awful, in that trivial-looking C++ files that use it can gobble up a half a gig of RAM when compiling. but really all of boost is awful that way.
