Had a great week at work except for some infuriating mansplaining. I'm so so done with men (it's always men) assuming I'm incompetent, treating me like garbage, and forcing me out of techy type spaces and JOBS. Sexism torpedoed my initial career and set me adrift for years. I've never really thought about it until recently. I just kind of tucked away my rage and got on with it.
@stoof I understand! It took twenty years of hard work and schooling prior to getting a job as an apprentice toolmaker in an automotive foundry. Twenty years after that, working in the trades, building dies for transmissions. Retirement is wonderful, but the mansplaining continues! I recently got a lecture on how to use a fulcrum and cheater pipe to increase leverage ... from someone who has known me for 30 years, and knows what my job was. 😩
