Being back on nights, I find a lot of things don't apply to me, at all. "Is breakfast the most important meal of the day?" What the hell is breakfast anyway? I go to sleep when the people it's directed at go to school/work. I forgot about this aspect of night shift life.

@craigmaloney Yeah. Many times. Being car illiterate and presenting femme doesn't help.

Children are so full of questions. Like, "Do you like bees?" and, "Do you want spiders in your eyes?"

Finally, this batch has it all. It was the best ever. I think I love peach in it best, now, too. Strange that it isn't sold around here with peach. It is great. The peach bits soaked in kombucha are the best part!

Crud, forgot to give it alt text. Sorry, it's my plain kombucha with little carbon bubbles in a clear glass in front of my record player.

My plain kombucha from the jug. A bit boring. So I've been flavoring, but that fizz you see dies somewhere along the way. I'm tempted not to flavor it, and keep the fizz. But it is a bit boring. But the fizz is my favorite part. Well, the sweet-n-sour part, too.

I'm not being paid to say this (I've always wanted to start a post like that, heh) but this "Rain Rain" program with my super small sleeper earbuds is the best thing ever. Day sleeping has been happening. As long as the neighbor keeps his subwoofer for the open road.

I'm still watching every tv show with a "what works, doesn't, and why" critical eye. LOL, like I'm going to make a television show in my second half of life. I don't even have the spoons for the little I do now. heh

It's the middle of the night, when I'm most active, but everyone else in the house is dead asleep. Also, there's little going on, online. I need to find something I can do in the dark, quietly. AHHHHH. Hee. :sigil: It's almost Beltane - my holiday that cues spring, and I'm on the hypomanic side. Not helping.

I read the first chapter of my beer brewing book. I didn't know it, but the guy uses the recipe named for the city near my home. Seems like a good place to start. Since the kombucha has worked out well (the first batch, even though imperfect was delicious.)

The scoby pellicle on my kombucha is now fully across the jug, and there's a baby one from the second batch I just bottled. The kombucha fizzed a lot when I put it in the individual bottles with the flavors. It didn't do that last time. So, if I leave it sit to ferment and infuse with flavor a bit, I think the carbonation will actually happen this time. I'm not burping the bottles this time either.

I just bought my first book on beer brewing. Time to do some studying. My kombucha (as well as all my years of other food hobbies - there were hundreds of them) makes me want to try something challenging.

There are actually 64 genders and anytime you complain about it we add 5 more

Morrissey: A study in how to go about getting people to stop loving you.

I just saw a picture of Fiona Apple taken from below the stage, while she was performing. I thought it was Fred from Angel performing. I may have a little too much Angel on the brain.

I've learned it takes a long time to make kombucha the first time around. It is all safe, good, and perfect, now. It just takes a long time. I think my flavor is going to be a little fresh-squeezed lemon and a few thing slices of ginger. It's lovely.
