Just curious: how many of y'all work somewhere that actively discourages knowing what your coworkers earn? I had to make some aggressively pointed estimations to get a coworker to give it up.
@Mainebot I do. I'm part of the problem, though. In my company, finding out what I make will not increase their wages, but probably decrease everyone's, and people who know what I make are really displeased with me. The hostility from having had that discussion has been awful...
@stillinhere which is just a 100% anti-union tactic, it's gross.
Admitting that I am topped out in my position and that when they got rid of my last position which was night shift with the $1 differential, they let me keep the dollar since that was on them has not made me exactly beloved.
