So Twitter announced more changes to the timeline.

And people are naturally upset.

And much like the ebb and flow of the tide folks will flock away and then grumble as they settle back in.

If you really want change from Twitter you have to stop using it.

Period.

Not "grumble and complain" levels of pausing your Twitter usage. Actual "My account is set to delete within 7 days" levels of ceasing Twitter use.

I know not everyone can do this, but if you can you might consider it.

And remember: Twitter doesn't make money off of you whenever you use it. They make money off of your engagement with sponsored content.

There's a reason they went with the example of the NBA finals as why you would want the new changes.

They need you engage with the NBA content. That's sponsored content.

They don't care if you see your friends content. They care about ads and sponsored engagement.

@craigmaloney interesting point. Personally, I'm somehow more worried about the manipulation of what "friends content" I get to see, and what is buried by the algorithm, while tweets that were liked but not retweeted are now the back bone of the notification tab. But I almost stopped using Twitter so I will admit I'm more worried for the socio-political effects this has than the monetisation behind it.
