This fucking, "We need undocumented immigrants cause Americans won't do those picking tomatoes jobs," argument.
Let me translate that: "I'm a fascist capitalist fuck fake-left who would have slaves with bits in their mouth growing my food, cleaning my laundry, teaching my kids, etc., but it's politically inconvenient in my Connecticut MSNBC-liberal Gala-crowd to have them nowadays, so bring more under-the-table Mexicans at $5/hr."
PAY EVERYONE A THRIVING WAGE, FUCKERS! Or better yet:
Fuck everything and everyone. I can’t believe I ever let my walls down. It’s such a stupid, self-destructive move.
Be vulnerable! Treat your coworkers well! Be patient and willing to do the grunge work!
And you’ll just get shit on. And treated like shit. It’s tactical career suicide.
Fuck everyone.
Fun fact: The first commercially successful stuffed animal wasn't the Teddy Bear, but rather this cat, 10 years earlier: https://www.ithacajournal.com/story/news/local/2016/07/28/ithaca-kitty-success-across-america/87666422/

My first #TheseAreTheChildren post is up. Read a bit about the story of a child who was raped and whose undocumented immigrant mother had to decide whether reporting the rape was good for the child in light of the possibility that the child would be taken from her.
These are the impossible choices we inflict on parents with current US policy requiring isolation of children.

In my experience, people who say one must suffer in order to be creative have no idea what it's like to suffer.
Such ignorance is easily remedied, and often quite pleasurable when done with the proper mindset.
Getting away with remedying such ignorance is the hard part.
The myth that artists have to “suffer” in order to create great work comes largely from the perennial human fascination with disaster porn, with a soupçon of militant Puritanism thrown in.
And it pisses me off.
Re: LB: Doxxing is social media's nuclear option, but ICE needs to be nuked.
"As ICE continues to ramp up its inhumane surveillance and detention efforts, I believe it’s important to document what’s happening, and by whom, in any way we can.
To that end, I’ve downloaded and made available the profiles of (almost) everyone on LinkedIn who works for ICE, 1595 people in total. While I don’t have a precise idea of what should be done with this data set, I leave it here with the hope that researchers, journalists and activists will find it useful."
