I found this interesting, for what little that's worth.

I wouldn't be surprised if a significant percentage of fat men in the US are eating their emotions and don't even realize it because of toxic masculinity.

That's not to say that women aren't eating their emotions, too, but I suspect more female emotional eaters at least get to experience their emotions before trying to eat them.

@pzmyers I blame the internet. Blogs, comment sections, and social media, for all they've expanded the average person's opportunity to express themselves, have also lent themselves all too easily to random cranks spouting arrant bullshit.

You'd think getting paid mostly in tips would be bad enough.

Rewrite your resume to de-emphasize dates and times and make it about what you can offer. Talk yourself up.

If somebody asks you point blank, tell them that you were injured at work (it was at work, right?), you needed time to recover, and now you're ready to return to work.

If they don't want you, fuck 'em.
