I bought moisturizer for myself for the first time. Clerk rings me up, asks if it's for my wife, and I said, "No, it's for me."
I used to grab a bit of my wife's if my face felt especially dry and flaky, but I've given myself permission to be more proactive about skincare.
@MissSnarkerson At this point in my life I don't care if it's a femme thing or not. I don't mind being a femme guy. I just regret that I didn't feel safe being more openly femme as a young man 20 years ago.
@elsa @starbreaker see also: manky hands!!!! nobody likes that!!!!
I don't know the first damn thing about nail care. :)
@starbreaker @MissSnarkerson
No better time to learn! Everybody likes nice nails and if you don't really want color, just doing a clear coat is super quick & easy.
@starbreaker gender & sexuality norms are such a pain......for a lot of people I don't come off femme enough (unless I'm literally wearing a dress), I routinely get confused for a dude from behind, and even when people realize I'm not a dude, they assume I must be a lesbian....like, come on people, STAAAAHP!!!!
@MissSnarkerson I get misgendered from behind, too. It's the hair -- as if long-haired metalheads haven't been around since the 70s...
@starbreaker ...and women can have super short hair..... *eye roll*
But back to your skin care stuff - if you really want to go off the deep end, I highly recommend k-beauty/j-beauty - it's truly next level skin care.....at a generally very reasonable price. :)
@MissSnarkerson I'll have to keep that in mind. :)

Oh man I feel ya... I always get looks when buying nail care stuff. Like yes that's all for me, yes my nails feel nice as fuck.
