How tolerant of advertising would we be if we called it propaganda instead?
@ayachan That's what I hope will happen. But people get so attached to the way things are that they take attacks on the status quo personally even if change would improve their lives.
@starbreaker I feel the same way! People get so comfortable with their situations, even if the situation is toxic for them and for everybody else, that they have no desire or interest in rocking the boat. Some go even further and attack people who do choose to rock the boat. I'm with you: we need to stand up for what is right and speak out about changing things that will improve life for all.
It's great to meet you! Thank you so much for reaching out. You post wonderful, thoughtful stuff. ^_^
@ayachan I'm glad you liked my recent toots. I don't always post thoughtful stuff, though. Sometimes I just let my hair down and post silly things like this...
CLAIRE: We all know Isaac Magnin was an arsehole. Let's just whack him.
NAOMI: Really? What gave it away?
CLAIRE: Didn't anybody tell you you can't trust a white-haired bishounen?
NAOMI: Dammit, Claire. This isn't anime.
CLAIRE: Says the swashbuckling soprano catgirl who moonlights as an Adversary.
@starbreaker Haha! People aren't one-dimensional. I think that it would be ludicrous to expect everyone to be the exact same all the time. It just means that you're both fun-loving and thoughtful.
And from the look of things, you're as big a fan of the absurd and random as I am. I think we're gonna get along just fine. ^_^
@ayachan I am, but Claire actually serves an important role in my stories. She's the only one who gets just how weird their situation is.
And here's a picture of Isaac Magnin as a baby. He used to be so sweet until he decided it was on him to save the world.
@starbreaker Hehe, nice!! Your stories sound really fun. ^_^
Aww!! He’s adorable!! <3
@starbreaker I think that would completely change how people respond to it. Really, advertising is nothing more than corporate propaganda, so it's all in how you talk about it. Very thought-provoking!
