Back in the day, I routinely ran an older emacs (19) on a machine with 8MB of RAM (and OS/2). I think even then, emacs was not the largest application on the system.

@gcupc That's when I got my first computer. It was a used IBM PS/ValuePoint running PC-DOS 6.1, and I ended writing a lot of utter shit using the included E editor.
