Sounds cool, though check out my pinned post... it probably doesn't support #rtl languages. But I'll give it a spin.

@eladhen AFAIK joe doesn't use the fribidi library, so you're probably right. But that's never been an issue for me since I only write in English.

Yep, just checked. No #rtl sadly. I can run it inside mlterm or inside #emacs to get their rtl support I guess...

@eladhen Have you seen MinEd? It claims to handle both Unicode and RTL.

I can check later how I can install it, but generally, yeah, I try to stick to the repos as much as possible.

@eladhen I followed the instructions on towo.net/mined/download.html. It worked fine on OpenBSD. It should also work on Ubuntu as long as you run "apt-get install build-essential" first.
