:flag_br: Sim, eu amo futebol e acompanho os jogos de todos os times, não apenas o meu

:flag_gb: Yep, I love soccer, and I watch all teams' matches, not just the one I cheer

:flag_br: Parabéns, Palmeiras, empatando com o Peñarol em casa. Difícil torcer.

:flag_gb: Congrats, Palmeiras, tying with Peñarol at home. It's hard to cheer

: "Mar Morto", by Jorge Amado ("Sea of Death")
It's the relationship of fishermen with the sea and Candomblé goddess Iemanjá, the queen of the ocean. During the book, there are many stories about their lives, struggles and mysteries involving Iemanja's power. BTW, I strongly recommend going to Salvador in February 2nd, to attend Iemanja's celebration. It's powerful and vibrant.

i wonder how many kids became plumbers because of super mario bros

@Herrkarl sometimes people even doesn't know what's socialism or communism. I always ask myself where were those people during history classes

*finally understanding how crazy, curious and beautiful is the fediverse*

:flag_br: Pela primeira vez estou escrevendo sem olhar o que fiz no dia anterior. Vou começar as revisões no momento certo.

:flag_gb: For the first time I'm writing without reviewing what I did the day before. I'll begin to review the text in the right time

:flag_br: Abril melhor mês. Três feriados seguidos, meu coraçãozinho merece

:flag_gb: April best month ever. Three holidays in sequence, my little heart deserves it

@laerm Duolingo is cool, but I wanted to be more independent... But everything was fine, everyone understood my english and it was a great trip

@laerm Salvador, Bahia. A beautiful city, incredible history and great food.

@laerm I envy you hahaha I tried a little bit of Swedish through Duolingo. I understood a few things during my trip to Stockholm (I really like to go to cold places) but not enough to engage in a conversation. I managed only to buy a chocolate.

@laerm in Brazil, if you go south (no pun intended) you can find places where you have winter - rarely you see snow, but it's a little bit cold. In my state, I can't even wear a puff jacket :joy: because our winter doesn't exist. Just rains in May, June...

Libertadores da América. Grêmio 3x0 Deportivo Iquique. And it's the first half of the match

@laerm during my college years we had the opportunity of studying foreign languages. I only studied French (a language I never had previous classes) and was amazing. I still want to go back and study French, it was a good experience and strangely easy for me.

@laerm I have a friend who visited Chile, she said it's amazing. I went to Uruguay a few years ago, it was AMAZING! I went there in the winter (and I'm from a place where we don't have winter - it's just one hot season and another not-so-hot season), so I suffered a little with the cold weather

@laerm Where are you from? I guess you're an English native speaker
