I feel like if you have a problem with Mastodon you are going to have a problem with twitter/facebook. The good thing about mastodon is that you can switch to another instance if yours is harassing you or if you dont agree with how its run. On other sites you are stuck with one site with everyone there.

You could also make your own instance that prohibits any sort of thing that has been pushing you away from mastodon
