I'm increasingly of the impression that the idea of "conservatism", particularly in combination with Christianity, in the US is intellectually dishonest and codename for a tribe focused on promoting an imagined history, rife with intolerance.

@lightweight it's all about the projection of history. Funnily enough things haven't structurally changed very much, and really neither has "conservatism" in the last 100 years. It's always about who is in power

@spacekookie yes good call! It's about promoting a fictional history that justifies the current 'order' (i.e. reins of power). That's why I call it intellectually dishonest. It justifies the unjustifiable in a way that's meant to mollify weakly inquisitive consciences.
