I always wondered what the other principles of sentient life were.

I suppose, since it's all open source, we could dig into the code and see if there's any guestimates there.

Or, we could ask the folks running octodon if they'd tell us what their server specs are and how much space is already used.

@levans If we assume all toots are 500 bytes, plus a few bytes for backend stuff, we can just round it to 1kb per toot.

That's 1,000 toots per MB.

A one TB drive would, therefore, have enough space for a database of around one billion toots (ignoring ^10 vs ^2).

So probably a long time even on a tiny little server.

Cuz I can totally see Odin riding an eight legged mastodon into battle, Gungnir gleaming in his hand as his Valkyries ride flying mammoths to retrieve the souls of dead cave man type Norse warriors.

@fobo I think so, nice harmony, good old school metal tune going, just all around great. And the Ye Olde Silent Movie acting in the video is fun too.

Plus, I think Papa's third incarnation is is best looking, I mean the first was ok too, but the third is clearly superior.

@pzmyers As far as metal goes I really can recommend Ghost. Solid old school style metal, none of that modern GWAR screaming wordlessly into the mic stuff.

And, as a bonus, the band is fronted by a dude in a Satanic Pope costume, which is always fun for grins and giggles. It's explicitly "Satanic" music.

@bradlibum Do you know what bothers me? Windows updates as of Win 10. I mean, I get that some people don't reboot for far, far, too long, but Win 10 went way to aggressive in forcing reboots.
