This isn't me judging but it's me being genuinely surprised (though I shouldn't be) that watching people build LEGO on twitch/streams is a thing.
Not really my thing but I guess for LEGO fanatics, it's something fun to do and zone out or chill with. So I can appreciate that.
Twitch.tv continues to surprise me. From Mr. Rogers marathons, chess tournament commentary, and lego building streams. There's sooo much variety on this platform. Lots of entertainment.
@sonicbooming have they never heard of sports? what's not to get?
@bea Oh they have, but for some reason, I'll still run into randos who think that watching a video game stream is somehow differnt from watching grown men dress up in colors and throw a ball.
@bea And I'm not judging that either, I enjoy watching NBA, it's just weird that we still have people judging entertainment in these kinds of arbitrary hierarchies.
@bea One thing I love about being in my late 30s now. Not giving a fuck about liking the things I like and learning to turn off that part of my brain that judges others for liking some thing I dislike.
@sonicbooming eyyyyyyyyyyy that's that good shit
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@sonicbooming It's just like football, video games, etc. Some people like to do the Thing, some people like to watch other people do the Thing, some people like both, or neither.
And yet whenever I mention twitch.tv at the office to non-gamer folks they sort of shrug their shoulders or shake their head as if I'm crazy for "watching video games".
“How is watching someone else play a game fun?”
