@waweic Haha, not my PC. I just wanted to scare people. I would never let that happen. I love my PC too much. :)

@sonicbooming
Some years ago, i used to repair the PCs of my school. You won't believe what i have seen there

@waweic Trust me I know. I've repaired some computers for family friends and they wonder at why their computer is slow or making weird noises or just turns off randomly and they've never once cleaned their PC. Years pass.

Gah!?!

Should be noted, this is NOT my PC. I would never let this happen. And the post is a cautionary warning, no PC should have to endure this level of abuse.

@sonicbooming Second friendly reminder: Unplug the fan from the motherboard before hitting it with compressed air, or at least keep it from spinning when you do.

(I've heard that otherwise it can act as a generator and send current into delicate bits of the motherboard...)

@varx I had not heard of this. Thank you for sharing, I'm boosting that to pass on this knowledge.

@sonicbooming looks like my old UberRig back in the day! Neither dust nor heat kept it from chewing up code and spitting out users...

@Gotterdammerung I just get so anxious when I see PC's like this. I just google image searched one of the worst ones I could find.

I feel bad when my gaming PC has a vent that gets a bit fuzzy, I cannot imagine opening up a PC and seeing it like this. Yuck.

@sonicbooming I did clean out the insides every now and then, but hot damn. The CPU & other heat sink fans did get clogged fairly quick. In one of the houses I stayed in, there was an access door to the underside of the house in the closet. Some of the fine dust got through the seams and the hole and added to the usual gunk over time.
