Ok, so let's talk about the pirated version of that I viewed recently.

It's a Chinese rip and the most fascinating thing is that the first time you're presented with a major character, there's this small caption/explanation of who they are.

Maybe this is common in other film markets, but it blew my god damn mind.

@sonicbooming

I could see the industry moving in this direction with augmented reality.

Having glasses that allow you to turn on "annotations" or "director's notes/commentary".

And I'd be cool with it so long as its an OPTION. Like if you want to watch the film this way, enable that feature in your viewing settings menu.

It'd also be a very good way to assist people with specific needs for visuals/audio.

Augmented Reality goggles that let you watch with a specific colour filter or provide a boost or reduction of audio.

@sonicbooming AR goggles that put the subtitles at the bottom of the screen is top of my wishlist.
The current subtitlers at the theaters clip onto the seat and you have to move your field of vision to read the subtitles. It's definitely better than nothing, but it's not quite *there* yet.

3D glasses are pretty bullshit and gimmicky in my opinion.

But a theatre that offers these AR goggles would be fantastic.
