Made the dumb decision of sharing a political view in an office slack channel when others shared their politics.
Politics doesn't crop into this specific channel too often (we mostly share memes), but vague grumpiness at faceless government pops up from time to time, and today it got a bit more specific and personal.
Now I understand why the etiquette is to avoid those topics at the workplace. Ugh, fuck that noise.
@saradgore This. I have 6 more hours in my shift and I'm angry at people who weren't particularly shitty to me, but just sort of scoffed at my own personal experience that I offered up.
And it's a bit frustrating. I get along with all of these people and I like them, we work together and we normally have a lot of fun at work, social situations, in this channel that is mostly just goofy memes and shit-posting.
Ah well, I'll just have to be a bit more careful in how I approach this stuff.
