Is there a way to directly follow someone on a remote instance?

@0x11de784a Yeah I mean on a non-connected instance. Like ... you are a user on an instance with few federated servers, and you want to follow someone on the core instance. I can't figure out how to do that from my test instance.
@skroo @0x11de784a I think if you have the correct @ it should still find someone. I was able to.
@DarwinsToffees @0x11de784a Ah I see ... you search user@instance.name in the main search bar and add from there.
Kind of obtuse.
