@noelle Agreed. I quit using birdsite as much as I used to just because it became a chore and I got little out of it. I didn't really leave outright, but I'm not going to waste my time cleaning it up either. I'm certainly not faulting others for leaving.

I lost the conversation to which this is germane, but: if a social place is becoming polluted, leaving is just as valid a response as trying to clean it up. If you prefer to try to get rid of negative elements, good for you, but don't shame people for just walking away - that just contributes to the toxicity of the place for them.
@shekkiesqueaks@computerfairi.es At least GNU and variants can handle spaces in filenames, albeit somewhat inelegantly when using the command line. FreeBSD and OpenBSD coped just as well as of the last times I used them regularly.
@briecs You are planning to convert away from Blogger, right? (I'd recommend WordPress but almost anything else would be an improvement.)
@Felthry I think technically the latter, though the ambiguity was probably not lost on them and in fact probably seen as a clever selling point.
@craigmaloney Which is a real shame, because Java could have been great had (what was then) Sun known when to let go. Of course, Oracle massively screwing up OpenOffice.org so much so that it had to be forked speaks volumes too...

PLEASE pay attention to the killjoys who tell you to get decent hardwearing earplugs / disposable classic foam plugs while playing.
Because living with tinnitus will start to ruin your life in a big way, and if tinnitus gets beyond tinnitus...well...yeah it's awful.
At the end of the day, you don't wanna be like me with 30% hearing in their left ear in my mid-20s just cuz teen me was ignorant af.

@marlyn When this happened to me, it kept getting worse and worse. Running at lower resolutions helped a bit, but then the power supply gave out. I am now convinced the graphics card issue was a symptom of the failing power supply.
