Imagine a Native American community with a Disneyland-like resort built over their villages & ancestor's graves, made to do bastardizations of sacred dances, in 'sexy feather headresses' & entertain the rich tourists for starvation wages, 12 hrs a day 7 days a week 1/?
Yes, the language was banned, and in 2018 a Hawai'ian professor Kaleikoa Ka'eo was arrested for speaking Hawai'ian in court despite Hawai'ian *technically* being an officially recognized language.
Neofeud is a game about my experiences growing up in Hawaii's ghetto, being a social worker & STEM teacher for poor, homeless, refugees, mostly non-white kids in slums of Hawaii the tour buses avoid. 100% of sales go to housing and feeding more Hawai'ians.
TMT is US-led colonialism in Hawaii. A 1.6 billion dollar corporate project founded in racism, no consent from indigenous people, threatening police violence against us Native Hawaiians. The massive environmental waste will impact the water my kids drink.
Hawaii also had a higher literacy rate than the US, and Europe before colonization, the banning of our culture and language, erasure of our history, and ghettoization. Hawai'ians were also often bi- or trilingual, and world-renowned diplomats.
Help me do more indigenous education and make anti-capitalist anti-imperialist games at the Silver Spook hui (cooperative/commune) where we're trying to house and feed as is our kuleana (responsibility):

Neofeud - a cyberpunk game I created about my experiences as a ghettoized Hawaiian under US racialized capitalism / colonialism https://silverspook.itch.io/neofeud
Here's another mega-thread specifically on my game Neofeud about my life as an impoverished Hawai'ian, social worker and STEM teacher for other poor/homeless, refracted through the lens of satirical cyberpunk #AAPI
Asians, esp Chinese, were a threat to the white capitalist oligarchy because of the hui (worker-coop) system which had a similar meaning in both Hawaiian AND Chinese (AND Vietnamese, I later learned talking to
Thread on Hawaii-Chinese history:
The West also lies about Hawaiian 'savages living in shacks' prior to colonization. The US actually de-industrialized us. Before 1898, Hawaii already had electricity, mass transit, railroads, and invented functioning submarines as Jules Verne merely imagined 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.
The G7 actually owe tens of trillions in reparations to China in pilfered tea, silk, porcelain, the contents of the Summer Palace, the massacre of the Opium Wars, and a century of colonial plunder.
What the 100th anniversary of the CPC means for humanity
"The scale of social and economic achievement in China are quite literally on a scale never seen in any other country in human history. This is not merely a fact, but it must be the starting point of all those involved in the international communications of China."
"China, the wisest nation, is a four thousand year old civilization, the antidote to the illusions of western, Christian historiography, and still offers 'the best constitution' (Essai sur les mœurs). Does it not rest on the merit of the mandarins, which this commoner Arouet (Voltaire’s real name), admirer of Louis XIV, opposes to birth?"
--Voltaire on China's meritocratic system versus aristocratic inherited privilege in Europe.
@silverspookgames Reminds me of European comicbooks from the past 50 years, where the hero would go to such an area for whatever reason... and yeah it'd be huts. And in fact, it would be written in such a way that some natives joined the white colonizer, wear their clothes, live in houses, etc... and they would be considered traitors for "not staying true to the ways of their ancestors". That being: living in huts.
@silverspookgames Right, I'm gonna stop looking at "ethnic stereotypes in european comics" on google images. Geez.
@silverspookgames They haven't even returned the priceless art they stole from China. That shit is proudly displayed in their museums, they don't tell you how they got them though.
@silverspookgames Ironic coming from countries that want China to pay reparations for COVID-19 despite China doing everything they could to prevent it from spreading.
@zauberin @silverspookgames There's no real evidence it's government orchestrated from what I know, most I've heard is that *maybe* Chinese billionaires have been doing it as they think it's patriotic, the act of which is probably also illegal in China anyway. Again, it's propaganda to frame China as some kind of super villain, all with a dash of projection.
@zauberin @silverspookgames Fun fact, China's criminal code applies to people even if they're outside the country, with the only exceptions being for less serious acts that are legal in the country they were done in. Stealing from museums is illegal in China, no exceptions, so I can't imagine why they would be okay with billionaires stealing art abroad (to add to their personal collections no less).
@silverspookgames And you'll get downvote bombed and comments like "Okay, Xi" and "How's that 50 cents?" if you try to point this out on "liberal" social media.
@silverspookgames that has 95% more robots and hacker boxes than under an Ala Wai overpass but otherwise super accurate 🖤
@wilbr Yeah I worked in Kalihi-Palama, Kakaako, Waianae, Palolo, etc.. The tent cities in Neofeud are based on the tent cities of the homeless Hawaiian families.
@silverspookgames when I was a kid I thought the coolest thing would be to live in an Makiki apartment overlooking the freeway cuz it was so cyberpunk, then I grew up and realized that cyberpunks are dystopias lol
