I wonder at what point literature classes will not read Camus' "L'Etranger" as an exploration of existentialism, but as a cautionary tale of white-male privilege.

Or... has this already happened? It's been a hot minute since I was in school.

@shuntley I never read The Stranger but I was intrigued by this response:

I was kind of hung up on feeling like I should read The Stranger first, and I don't especially want to read that.

The Stranger is a mildly interesting existential journey if you take it out of gender, race, political context. But it may end up being way more fascinating in hindsight with those contexts in mind.
