So is awoo the same as Mastodon? Or something entirely different?

Notifications still aren't working on my phone - but I can't blame the app since the Chrome ones aren't either. I've kept it stock because I was tired of the tweaking and workarounds needed with a custom ROM...

But I'm still on 6.0, not even 6.0.1, nevermind 7.0 or better and I'm just really annoyed with Lenovo at this point. The whole reason I got a Moto X Pure was for the near-AOSP experience and promise of regular software updates.

I was lied to.

If I had the $$$ I'd get a Pixel.

I know politics are super important in the world today, but tbh I really needed a space where I could talk about other things to distract myself.

At the same time, when I do that on birdsite I start to feel like I'm ignoring important things and start worrying what people will think of me.

It's too much stress for me! So this is a really cool alternative.

How's the day seeing you, fellow Mastodonians?

OKAY. SO. Gonna start heading home from work, with a stop at the pharmacy and Target and none of the Mastodon clients are giving me notifications on my phone.

So I'm not ignoring anyone, I'm just not responding for a while. ;)

So I have 3 Android apps and Mastodon pulled up in Chrome AND saved to the launcher as its own miniapp and still zero notifications on my phone.

Not sure if phone or something with octodon.social itself? I don't know! Whyyyyyyyy

The cool part of having Mastodon featured on Vice et. al, is that suddenly I'm aware it exists. And folks are flooding onto the service.

The bad part is that means the trolls and "parody accounts" are also following. And that could potentially ruin the entire appeal of this as an alternative to Twitter. :/

BUT maybe it'll be more moderated. I dunno how it works yet. I've only been here a few hours!
