A factor of 29.35 equals 29.35 decibels.

also you can create an account and upload sound memories, it seems.

Nice web piece: heartothere.org/ - listen to field recordings located roughly between two specified locations.

We decided to found - Association for Artistic Experiments, to channel our future projects. Next step will be official registration with the city council next week, and we'll set up a website.

Ok, those 26 EUR LogiLink "7.1" USB sound cards work out of the box and fine on Linux, sound quality seems ok, you get the 8 channels output via 4 stereo mini jack sockets.

The only thing I find slightly annoying is a blue LED that blinks during audio transmission, but that can be simply taped off.

Reading up on spherical geometry 🎱

So I can clearly see the Doppler shifts, but those spikes are really annoying. I tested multiple channels and cable now, it's always the same. Will try a different audio interface today, but I'm not convinced that it would be the source of this behaviour...

I'm getting some strange crackle in my ultra-sound signal, with a spacing of around 130 to 190 ms. I checked all sorts of things and can't find the culprit. It must be either an electrical problem or something of the DAC/ADC. Anyone have any ideas...?

(Depicted is 40 kHz signal, where the disruptions are visible).

So here's how that might look like (still have to reduce flicker in the low density beginning perhaps): vimeo.com/268494638

I implemented the UGen directly, takes 5 seconds now, so that's viable for the video project, and I still have a variable kernel definition, not a bad compromise.

I checked that into FScape v2.14.2

github.com/Sciss/FScape-next/c

I guess I could speed it up implementing a DelayN UGen instead.

Ok, so I implemented that Gimp-style slur filter; it takes 5 minutes per frame; video has 40K frames. I just need to render for five month :thonking:

Experimenting with GNG-U again, using an old video of mine. Figuring out how to create the particular texture I'm looking after.

Particular kind of inversion

Found this experimental radio show on Diaspora: Radio - really nice

Gosh, woke up after a stressful dream about being 'evaluated' in an artistic 'competition' :-/ Perhaps was just too much garlic in the papaya salad I ate.

Anyway, since I'm wake, here's a cool photo from latest ceremic iteration for ; I hope the colour transfer from the wood planks is preserved when burning it.

Good night...

I uploaded a short intro tutorial on the new Pattern abstraction in :

I go by 'release fast, release early', so several interesting features are not yet exposed in SoundProcesses, but will be soon hopefully.

Another call for application for composers at the in Graz; this is for a research projects colleagues of mine are running: interagency.iem.at/artist_resi
