There's a particular make of electric drive car here that has a distinct sound design, adding nicely to the Graz .

I'm always irresolute if I'd prefer electrical cars to be entirely silent or what kind of sound level would be appropriate.

This car's sound is a mix between harmonic and inharmonic with particular kind of glissandi as it accelerates and breaks. I've seen it on the street, think it's Renault perhaps?

@sciss Ideally you want a wheeled vehicle to make *some* sound, for the safety of pedestrians.

I ride an #ebike, with very silent running motor, it accelerates to 25 km/h very fast.

As this does not look like a "sport" bicycle and I do not wear lycra racing gear, I must be very careful not to scare other road users, who do not think I would be going so fast (when most other similar looking bikes are at 10-20 km/h)

@vfrmedia @sciss My bicycle has a bell on it for warning pedestrians.

@frankiesaxx @sciss it is the law in UK you must have one (or equivalent warning device) but many pedestrians are listenng to music via headphones, looking at mobile devices and would not hear it.I could get a 110dB Chinese bike horn but that would also scare folk!

Plus lanes for bikes and people in shared space are not well defined here as in other EU nations.
