Back from four days at the beach with a pile of books and no computers.
I loved 'The Idiot' by Elif Batuman (shoutout to @kai for the recommendation!) and 'Asymmetry' by Lisa Halliday (esp the first half).
the only way this post could get more Snow Crash is if Domino's were secretly owned by the mafia
RT @nprmusic@birdsite.com: In the spring of 2014, clarinetist Eric Abramovitz got the opportunity of a lifetime, but his then-girlfriend intercepted the news. Now he's been awarded more than $260,000 in damages.
Following up on this: This add-on greatly expands FF60's built-in container functionality, allowing users to set specific domains to open in specific containers:

Any tips on using containers in Firefox (v 60)? I wish I could make rules like: "force all Google sites to open in X container, all my bank webpages in the Banking container" etc. Is that possible (without writing my own add-on, preferably)?

Who is your go-to Smash Brothers character(s)? I enjoying playing as Luigi (N64), but was probably best with (*gulp*) Kirby
What are y'all reading this summer (fiction or non-fiction)? My list so far:
- 'Bad Blood' by John Carreyrou (about Theranos)
- 'Habeas Data' by Cyrus Farivar
- 'Now My Heart is Full' by Laura June
- 'Tell Me How It Ends: An Essay in 40 Questions' by Valeria Luiselli
- 'Asymmetry' by Lisa Halliday
I'm also looking at this list from Vulture: http://www.vulture.com/2018/05/books-to-read-this-summer-2018.html
Good news: CW, Filters, privacy settings, Admin/Mod tools, and accessibility/localization features have been prioritized.
Bad news: This will delay federation support. I think its crucial for CW support, privacy settings, and mod tools to be ready before federation is supported.
one of my dreams is to start a podcast just about text editors/editing
do i know anyone who uses an ergodox, or keyboard.io thing, or similar? do you like it? do you hate it? is it good for some things but not, say, vim and web browsing?
i'm not sure i need a new keyboard (i really love my WASD CODE keyboard, but i also don't know a lot about keyboards), but it's something i'm thinking about because parts of my hands and wrists feel not-great sometimes.

sooo I'm planning leaving Kubuntu and installing Pop_OS 18.04 due to this bug ☹️
Really hoping the bug doesn't also occur with Pop_OS installed 😕 (may be issue with my hardware)
