What I learnt from getting an internship: persistence is the key.
It's okay to be a high school student and take part in a contest exclusive to uni students. Even when the company's employee told you explicitly not to take part. That's just one employee's word anyway, there's a good chance another one will see it differently.
So, yes, I am getting a one month long internship at a local IT giant, this sounds really exciting.

@michcioperz Congrats! I'm not sure if it's your first gig or not, but getting that first chance to light the world on fire is a really awesome feeling. Trust yourself, trust people you respect, don't get jaded by the game. One thing that has kept me going so far in my career is the technology, that doesn't play games, doesn't snipe or ridicule, doesn't position for advantage, it just is there making, in most cases, things better if we embrace, care and feed it.
