I know I hear a lot of guff about Telegram not being federated and such, but I really need to find a decent messaging app that my wife will want to use that doesn't lead to me getting called out by my manager for being on my phone.
@starbreaker the caveat is my wife using the app. I tried Signal with her, she hated it (can't read the notification from lock screen, picture message quality low), and we use Allo right now, but the web frontend requires your phone to be on the same network. Riot seems to have a more technical side too, and I have friends on Telegram already as well.
