I like that not all of the bots are follow bots
@embolalia They seem to be people's attempts at linking the networks together. If someone on a server follows someone on another, the toots will show up in the federated timeline. It can be pretty annoying for some people though, who aren't fond of being followed by fake people
I'm not even really sure what to use this site for, but it's the first piece of social media where I haven't felt extremely anxious about doing anything other than stalking live feeds
It's so surreal to have not seen anyone yelling incoherently at anyone else
@bradamant One of the ones that followed me says it ignores accounts with "#noBot" in their bios
@bradamant That makes a lot of sense, actually. I don't mind it too much, but I think it could be annoying to others

Why are there so many bots
though of course im a curious weirdo and will click on most things even with warnings, so it doesnt exactly benefit me. but i feel safer knowing i can tag things so easily and /other/ people wont have to be unsafe
Also the notification sound is really pleasant. IDK a lot of this just feels more polished and safe
I had no idea a new experience could be so much calmer. I actually feel comfortable talking. On twitter I could only say something every once and a while
@shitpost It's really nice. It feels calmer, like a little community, unlike other social media networks
It's really nice being able to see a public timeline with large groups of users. I can get a good idea of what's going on in the world

@starbutterfly It's less of an abyss. Lots of people can see what you're posting, and could decide to follow. It's so weird but so cool at the same time
