I spend most of my time with kids (my own and my tutoring students) and cats. I try to read and knit or stitch - at least a little - every day.
Time for #introductions I guess!
I'm Jules. I spend most of my day with kids - I have a toddler and a 2nd grader, plus I do some tutoring on the side.
My main hobbies and interests are knitting, music (especially oboe), reading, and museums.
I'll post about those things, and my family (including the cats), but I'll also be posting about political topics. No one else is going to save us, so we need to save each other. I’ll share what I’m doing to help.

I mostly stayed off of social media yesterday, which was nice, but I do want to share something nice that happened to me:
The lady in front of me at the coffee shop drive through paid for my drink! It was such a lovely surprise. I will have to do the same for someone else, one day soon.

Content isn't "free" when there are ads. The longer I work in advertising, the more this idea that content w/ads is "Free" bothers me. It's not free at all. You're paying for it with your time and attention to sponsored content, and how that content then drives you to take actions. It's not "free."

I let my toddler help me play Animal Crossing sometimes.
He calls this horse Batman.
I got so much done today, you guys! I swept the floors, I scrubbed the bathtub/shower, I prepped for Friday's parent-teacher conference, I took care of the hand-wash dishes, and I got the baby down for his nap before noon!
Then this afternoon I also got my February calendar sorted (*just* in time), sent some emails, listened to the kiddo's piano practice, got the kiddo to do one of his weekly chores, and then gave the baby his bath before dinner!
Well done. The chair is now padded to my satisfaction.
