@distelfliege I had heard of the stacking, and thought it sounded nice, but the only ones I’d ever seen were like four rocks high. I had no idea people were digging rocks out of the ground or river beds, and making such big piles, or so many of them. That’s sad.

I’m in the “leave no trace” camp, myself. (As much as one can with small children, but that also affects where we choose to go in the first place.)

@reedsandstrings I've seen stacks on the beaches in denmark, but not too many and on beaches with so many stones that you could tell the area or micro-ecosystems were not affected. I like to see them here and there but not if the whole landcape is littered with them.
