okay, twelve hours later i'm almost to the point where i've figured out how to make a second component in react
if i were doing this server-side in a language and framework i know it'd be done by now but also hideously fragile and broken
@catonano I'm trying to create a specific visualization/UI for monitoring a specific application; I could mangle its logic into a backend that just renders the right DOM but it is not a clear mapping compared to composable react components getting state pushed to them and I think it'd be pushing the limits for redraws on the actual DOM with refreshes
(also I want to fix the "front end development is a dark art" mindset I've been operating under for most of my life)
@r4v5 I enjoyed very much exploring Hoplon, a clojurescript framework
One of its components is Javelin. A library that provide a data type similar to a spreadsheet cell
Updating the content of a cell triggers a graph of dependent updates
Ang gui widgets represent cells content
Very elegant, very little code
I don't know react, thogh
