Modern Chinese society cooled down when it woke up and found the CCP in control—political reasons.
One could say Japanese society’s cooling period started during the Edo period?, when militarized society entered a centuries-long peace—it stayed cooled thru nationalist & postwar years.
In the West, society is cooling because of tech.
Three societies, three different reasons, same outcome: social cooling.

@elsander Perhaps this is part of why many Western cultures see religion as something that ought to be private - because of the loss of the visible communal elements of the church, especially on Sunday gatherings, our cultural consciousness has lost the association between church and community, and church gatherings have become less accessible to outsiders.

Hello, I am 1 computer science student from Hamburg (Germany), and I am 21 years old.
I love a lot of things: running, paddling, coding, hiking, camping, cycling, languages, travel, nature, reading,... and all of you people <3
I hate nazis and I want that nobody feels left out. I know how being bullied feels and I hate it too.
I also speak #german, #spanish and #portuguese if you feel more comfortable with that or want to learn. Currently learning #danish.
