Six reasons why Mastodon will fail
1. I don't like elephants or dinosaurs and a mastodon is both
2. Being distributed is an inherent flaw with no upsides
3. Toots is a silly word, unlike tweets which is a serious word
4. You need to remember a number, not a handle, and I don't like that and also I'm wrong about that
5. You can't search the whole network at once
6. Apps for a new thing have unpolished UX

@mcccclean
1. So the user base will be stacked with people who like dinosaurs & elephants? That's a win.
2. The users will all be people with an aversion to authoritarians? Win.
3. OK, this is true.
4. Users will have to be comfortable with math. Also, win!
5. Dang, it's going to be hard to find the other dinosaur-loving egalitarian mathophiles. You are correct.
6. We need to stop making new things.

I think I'll hang around to watch the inevitable cataclysm.
