@star_zero What do you usually use?
@GiorgioQSarah Your country is bad too. Both of us did colonization.
@TheAdmin They seemed to come out of nowhere. How old is that instance?
I think I'm just not in the mood for new Kendrick.
According to @mastodonusercount, the number of accounts has been skyrocketing over the past day or two. What happened? New article or something like that?
@sarahjeong You're one of the few people on Twitter I follow who's on here. I bet that's the same reason for a lot of people.
Anyone have recommendations for non-Mastodon fediverse instances that aren't filled with boring shitposts? I want to explore more communities to find people to follow.

I think being written Ruby and JS, rather than PHP, has helped, and will continue to help Mastodon in terms of maintaining an active development community.
@deadsuperhero Yeah, I'm hoping the timeline becomes viewable at some point.
@wspurgin I mean if someone who hasn't joined an instance wants to check out recent posts from that instance, it doesn't appear that they can do so.
Most of my posts for a while will likely be questions and comments about federation. I got into the idea about five years ago, played around with Friendica and Diaspora, but never stuck with it. I'm excited to dive back in and see how it's evolved since then.
On GNU social, you can see an instance's public timeline, while that doesn't seem to be the case with Mastodon. Is that intentional or just yet to be implemented? It seems to me like a good way for people to get a feel for an instance, while instances that want to stay more private could easily turn it off.
@abbenm @Akatookey @SuzanEraslan Oh, gotcha.
@abbenm @Akatookey @SuzanEraslan I have plenty of problems with them, especially when it comes to supporting PoC activists, but most of their attacks are against liberals and conservatives, not leftists. Clintonion neoliberalism is not leftism.
@CobaltVelvet Another question (sorry to ask so much) : am I unable to follow people from those instances or are they just removed from my federated feed?
@CobaltVelvet Awesome, thanks.
@CobaltVelvet Does octodon.social have a publicly available list of those blocked instances? It would be really helpful for me to understand the Mastodon/fediverse dynamics.
@CobaltVelvet I don't know who that 3/4 is. Is that sealion.club and that related scene?
@CountZero Intra Mastodon federation is working fine, but I'm seeing criticism from GNU Social users about Mastodon breaking federation with them.
