@DistroJunkie @sivy Nah, both were essentially designed as new implementations of GS. They also written in Ruby and Elixir respectively, instead of PHP.
@SarcasmKid What are people mad about now?
@grainloom Yeah, I really want to be able to use it for real work, but I've settled for the occasional small toy project for now. I might even try to help work on the memory issues once I know what I'm doing.
@the_all Debord gradually deemphasized a lot of the art influence when he in was in charge.
@grainloom I think the memory usage is tied into the long compile times.
@grainloom I believe Edwin has said that comprehensively fixing the unreasonablly long compile times requires a major rewrite of some core code, so who knows when that will happen π
@grainloom In terms of speed? Or libraries?

@celesteh I will be your ally in the battle against the genius composer myth.
@CobaltVelvet Is this about GS?
The Drake/Pusha beef is getting so good. I wish Meek went hard like this.
@SarcasmKid Not as thicc as Jynx
@celesteh It's frustrating how politics is usually only encouraged in avant-garde/improv/etc when presented in the vaguest, most toothless form. We need much more aesthetically interesting and unabashedly anti-capitalist art.
@seanl That's certainly one possible purpose for technology--and one we should strive for--but it isn't inherent to technology. That reminds me of the techno utopianism of the 90's that thought that the liberatory potential of the internet would automatically lead to liberation. (Sorry if I'm misreading you though).
