Looking forward to increasingly desperation "late stage capitalism" memes in the coming years
@lain It's supposedly been late stage for decades now, meanwhile, in its current form, it kinda erased two thirds of world poverty, brought unrivaled prosperity and mostly turned into a pretty solid welfare state anyway. Oh wait, the blocks of Mastodon are coming.
@pony that's the main reason I'm skeptical about it. There's tons of injustice in capitalism, but it's so much better than everything that came before.
@lain No one wants to go back to previous systems. We just don't want our surplus labor stolen and sold back to us, which requires going beyond capitalism.
