So, like, people who don't like my politics and come into my mentions telling me why don't actually change my politics, but they do reduce how much I want to engage with the network. So it's obviously an effective way to mute any pro-civil-rights discourse that some might find annoying or confounding.
And maybe this is what the world is like. People will try to masplain to me how the 'genius composer' paradigm of the 19th century is fine and my desire to change it is pathological.
On Twitter, I had allies for this kind of thing. Here, I'm shouting into the void, I guess. If I weren't so angry about their role in trump and brexit, I think I might have wanted off by now.
Of course, to people who think Beethoven needs more attention, there's nothing to fix here either. Everything is working fine for them on all the networks.
(If you don't understand what Beethoven and 19th century models of genius have to do with each other and think this is all but insane sounding, well...)
