Yeezus was this latest iteration of Kanye at his peak. It just worked. People loved TLOP, but it really felt to me like he was coming apart and ye makes perfect sense as a follow up. Many have pointed out how much his pen has rusted, but what really stands out to me is how little curation he appears to do now. That skill is what made MBDTF was so well paced, and without it we're left with 23 minutes of, I dunno, aimless passion?
